Shanghai, 18th July 2016 – the 22nd edition of ProPak China, China’s premier processing and packaging technology exhibition from 13-15 July 2016 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre, ended last week to reports of significant machinery sales made by exhibitors to the thousands of visitors attending. This year, featured industry sectors of FoodTek; BevTek; DairyTek; CosmeticTek and PharmaTek made it easier for the specialist buyer to source technology relevant to their particular industry requirements. A total of 636 companies participated at ProPak China 2016 from 25 countries and regions including pavilions from France; Germany; Italy; Japan; Korea; North America and Taiwan Technology. The exhibitors met with 17,494 trade visitors over the three day exhibition, with 57 % of all visitors coming from Chinese cities outside of Shanghai and from overseas.
Buyers in search of the latest processing and packaging technology, for all industries including food, beverages, dairy, confectionary, snacks, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, FMCG goods, electronics and industrial manufacturing attended ProPak China 2016. Visitors came not just to view the latest technology on offer but to buy. Even after the first day exhibitors were reporting sales and contracts signed.

We have participated ProPak China exhibition five times, it is very successfully this year. One Chinese customer placed an order at the show. Our major machinery products are cosmetic filling , personal hygiene and capping machines. We definitely will exhibit the show next year.
Exhibitors that displayed machines on their stands that visitors could actually inspect, did particularly well at ProPak China 2016.

We expanded our stand this year so that we could show a machine. This was the right decision as we sold two machines to pharmaceutical customers on the 1st day of ProPak China 2016. We met high quality visitors at ProPak China 2016 and we intend to return to the show again in 2017.

The show is better than last year, more China customers and the overseas buyers visited out stand comparing last year. Our major machinery products are dairy packaging plants and single machines. We scheduled to have a bigger booth next year with even more machines to display.
The majority of visitors to ProPak China 2016 came from China, however a significant number, 2,458 or 14% of the total came from overseas. Overseas buyers were interested to source and buy appropriate Chinese technology at competitive prices and they did.

This is the fourth time we have participated at ProPak China, the show organiser provides high quality service. We have met more overseas buyers than other shows, more than 10 overseas buyers plan to purchase our machinery at the show. Our major products are packaging lines and turnkey systems with customised service which offers more attraction to the buyers.
ProPak China is unique in China as the only event for the processing and packaging industry to attract the participation of the National Packaging Associations from the world’s leading technology producing nations, plus pavilions of their top companies. Visitors to ProPak meet with representatives and member companies from ADEPTA from France; UCIMA, Italy and the Processing & Packaging (P+P) Italy; JPMA and FOOMA, Japan; KPMA, Korea; PMMI, North America; TAMI, Taiwan Technology and an independent pavilion from Germany.
A total of 7,567 specialist buyers from cities all over China and outside Shanghai attended the show this year. Delegations came from Harbin in the North; Guangzhou in the South and Chongqing in West China.

We have coordinated a group over 50 members to ProPak China 2016. All delegation members reported successful meeting with exhibitors and a number have already concluded deals to buy machines.
Specialist industry seminars reviewing the latest industry innovations and trends were held alongside the exhibition. The Active Intelligent Packaging Industry Association seminar proved particularly popular addressing a capacity audience of industry delegates. New this year, was the ProPak Food Quiz Bowl, a competition for Food Science students from East China Universities. Ten teams from seven universities participated. Congratulations go to the winning team from Zhejiang University. The ProPak Food Quiz Bowl organised by the Fuli Institute of Food Science and the Competition Chairperson Professor Liu Donghong stated:
“This year’s competition is a great success and forms a building block to connect the food scientists of the future with food manufacturers of today. We plan to open the competition to Universities from all over China next year”.
ProPak China will return to Shanghai next year for the 23rd edition from 12-14 July 2017.
