Opportunities for technology sales as Chinese thirst for beverages and beer continues at pace

Two statistics you can depend on in China today, is the growth of the overall economy and the increase in consumption of beverages in the world’s largest domestic economy. Forecasts for 2011 record that GDP will continue to exceed 8%. While consumption of beer by 2015 is forecast to reach 573 million-hectare litres, source Canadean “Global Beer Trends”. More than twice the size of the USA market, the world’s second largest market. Beverage consumption ranging from fruit juices to water and tea to carbonated drinks, valued at US$ 45 billion is equally impressive. For manufacturers and supplies of beverage, beer and liquid technology this is a market they cannot afford to miss. Reflected by bookings made for space at the 4th edition of China BevTek in Shanghai from 13-15 July 2011.

Liquid technology ranging from filling lines to capping machines; conveyor systems; sterilization equipment; bottling technology; robotic systems; pumps and valves and much more will be on show at China BevTek held in conjunction with China’s largest packaging event ProPak China. Top industry names at the show include ASG; Triowin; Fredrikson; New Amstar; Hy-Filling; Best Crown; Precise and the biggest beverage technology producer in the country Heifei Zhong Cheng have all book their places at this capacity exhibition. The initial allocation of space for liquid technology companies has all been sold. To cater for extra demand the organisers, China International Exhibitions have added a new zone for beverage and beer technology suppliers in the third hall of the exhibition complex.

Visitors to China BevTek will come from beer, beverage and generally liquid product producers from all over the country. This includes senior management, production and factory managers from top beer and beverage brands including Want Want, Huiyuan Juice Group, Shanghai Bright, Tsingtao Brewery, Yanjing and Hua Run beer to name a few.

A feature of last year’s show, which will be repeated at China BevTek 2011, will be the Brewing Industry Committee of the China National Food Industry Association Annual General Meeting. The AGM is anticipated to attract over 200 delegates and leaders of the Chinese brewing sector. While specialising on beverage technology, The Shanghai Beverage Association will again host “The East China Beverage Conference” covering market trends and technology developments.
