ProPak quality confirms show as China's premier pa
Shanghai, 21st July 2010 – The 16th edition of ProPak China and 3rd edition of China BevTek which took place in Shanghai from 14- 16 July 2010, recorded a 5% increase in visitors over last year's event. Exhibitors praised the quality of attendance, “Visitor came to buy this year from all over China and not simply to look” commented Ms Carmen Fung, Director, Shanghai Soontrue Machinery Equipment Co., the largest exhibitor at the show. In total, 14,756 buyers attended this 3-day expo of processing, packaging and liquid technology and had the opportunity to meet 530 exhibitors from 19 countries.

The visitor report published by the organiser confirms the quality of buyers attending. A record 44%, or 6,468 of total visitors traveled to ProPak China from outside Shanghai from other cities in China and from overseas to meet the many exhibitors at this show. “ Serious buyers will spend on flights and accommodation to visit a show with a reputation for attracting top quality exhibitors and the record numbers attending ProPak and China BevTek from outside Shanghai in search of processing and packaging technology confirms we had some excellent visitors at the show this year” commented Margaret Zhang, Marketing Manager for the show organiser China International Exhibitions Ltd. A sample of attendees from outside Shanghai revealed that engineers, contract packers, packaging designers, production managers and senior management traveling to ProPak and China BevTek included management for many prominent brands:
Amway, Guangzhou; P&G, Tianjin; Wahaha and Bayer, Hangzhou; Unilever; Hefei; Lulu Group and GSK, Beijing; Yunnan Bai Yao, Yunan to name a few. While from overseas, buyers attended from companies including Nestle and Ferrero Hong Kong; Avon, Philippines; OZ Dairies Australia; Oishi, and Kirin Japan; Dalat Milk Co, Vietnam; F&N Dairies, Thailand; Iran Chlor, Iran; Natural Fruit and Drinks, Singapore; SABMiller, South Africa and many more.
Our stand was opposite the International Buyers Lounge and we met many overseas customers. This is the best show we have attended in China bringing us many potential opportunities and customers. Definitely will attend next year with a bigger space and bring even more machines”.

ProPak China is unique amongst exhibitions in China in that it is the only trade show to regularly attract exhibitors from so many countries and their national packaging trade associations. This year ProPak China again proved to be the show to attend with pavilions of their country's leading companies coordinated by KPMA, Korea; PMMI, North America; PPMA, UK; TAMI, Taiwan Region; and VDMA, Germany. Plus new pavilions this year from UCIMA coordinated by the Italian Institute of Foreign Trade and JPMA, Japan Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association. “Good exhibition and good organisation. Visitors to the shows in search of processing and packaging solutions were able to view some of the latest technology available in the market and from a wide range of companies. Robotics, automation and conveying technology was particularly prominent this year. Reflecting market demand for labour saving machinery and need for quality control. From Chinese companies, carton technology with machines for carton erecting; sealing; loading and wrapping much in demand. While liquid technology for dairy products; fruit juices, bottled water, tea and carbonated beverages proved popular with buyers seeking everything from blow moulding machines to gable cartons; filling machines, capping and sterilizing technology, and palletizing machines.

The quality of visitors and exhibitors in the exhibition and attendees to the numerous specialist conferences held alongside, has firmly establish ProPak and China BevTek as the leading trade shows in China for processing, packaging and liquid technology” commented Brendan Jennings, General Manager of show organiser China International Exhibitions. Jennings added,
“This year was our largest show in the 16 year history of ProPak and positive results reported by exhibitors confirm demand for advanced international technology and appropriate level Chinese packaging machines is stronger now than ever before from China and overseas”. “Shanghai as the gateway to East China's rapidly growing industrial base who supply the regions affluent middle class consumer market is definitely the right place for this show”. “While advance bookings for next year confirm ProPak and China BevTek 2011 from 13-15 July 2011 will continue to attract more companies from more countries wishing to sell their technology to the world's largest market”.
