Industry Backing for New Liquid Technology Show
SHANGHAI –  9th July 2008 — China BevTek 2008, The international beverage and liquid technology & material exhibition, will take place for the first time from 9 –11 July 2008 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre ( SNIEC), Pudong. The exhibition will showcase liquid processing and packaging technology for industries producing beer, beverage, dairy, sauces, liquid foods, oils and industrial liquids. Participating companies come from China, Germany, Italy, Korea, Taiwan Region, UK and USA, targeting the China but particularly the booming East China market and export markets.

In recent years, East China has become the focus of beverage manufacturing in China centered on Jiangsu, and Zhejiang provinces. All major international brands producing in China including PEPSI, Coca Cola and top local brands including Wahaha have build plants here. Many new production and bottling plants are under construction with companies eager to benefit from the strategic geographic location of East China and the good distribution infrastructure to the rest of the country. The export potential offered by ChinaBevTek is due to the reputation of Chinese manufactures who produce a high quality, appropriate level brew and beverage technology at very competitive prices for emerging markets.

“This is the first year for China BevTek, and we see great potential for this sector in future. Consumerism in China is stimulating rapid growth in all sectors, particularly for food and beverages. Consequently more equipment, including the latest technology is needed by Chinese and JV manufacturers to increase their production” commented Brendan Jennings, General Manager, China International Exhibitions (CIE) the organisers of China BevTek 2008. The  McKinsey Global Institute, report that the Chinese urban population is expected to grow from 572 million seen in 2005 to over 1 billion in 2030. Producing 15 supercities with an average population of 25 million, generating 95% of the country’s GDP and consuming US$3 trillion of goods and services annually. Mr. Jennings added, “With these growth predictions it comes as no surprise that every branded producer of beer and beverages is beating a part to China’s door. While Chinese producers are rushing to established brand identity by expanding production of existing plants and building new factories as quickly as possible. The result is an unprecedented demand for the latest liquid technology and we expect major deals will be concluded at China BevTek 2008”.

The organizers report an overwhelming response from industry registering in advance to attend China BevTek 2008 and ProPak China, for general packaging taking place alongside. Margaret Zhang, Marketing Manager commented that: “pre-registration of visitors to China BevTek and ProPak China is 25% up on the 2007 show with corporate delegations attending from Wantwant, PEPSI China, Bright Dairy, Sanlu Group, Yinging Beer, InBev, Mailing Aquarius to name a few. In addition, foreign delegations are coming from Japan, Korea, Middle East and South America”.

Alongside China BevTek 2008, will take place a series of brew and beverage industry conferences plus the Annual General Meeting of the China National Food Industry Association ( CNFIA), Brewing Industry Committee. The AGM alone is expected to attract  over 200 delegates from China’s top brewers including  Snow Beer, Chingqing Beer, Fujian Yanjing Huiquan Beer, Tsing Tao, InBev, Mautai Beer. Speakers from Sidel, Nanjing Light Industry Machine Group, Krones, Chongqing Beer Group Stock Ltd will introduce new technology solutions and review the Chinese Beer market.

“With China BevTek being held alongside ProPak China visitors have the advantage of seeing a much wider range of equipment than would have been possible at a single more specialist show. From the response we have received from industry this view is backed by both exhibitors and visitors and we are looking forward to a record breaking show,” commented Mr. Jennings.
